Environment: Device: MacBook Air (2025 model) macOS version: 26.4.1 Input method: Default system keyboard shortcuts Impact: Default shortcut behavior is misleading or incorrect. Interferes with existing user workflows relying on Fn key or Option key. Reduces usability of voice transcription feature. Additional Notes / Suggestion: Allow full customization of keyboard shortcuts for voice transcription. Current behavior appears to be either a configuration bug or incorrect shortcut mapping. The Fn key behavior conflicts with expected system defaults and should be corrected or made configurable.

I love the new feature that Seam tracks coding agent states & usage. The usage tracking works very well for both Claude Code & Codex, but there’s an issue with the “is working” state - it usually doesn’t appear at all for me when using Claude Code, and only very rarely when using Codex. And the behaviour is unclear when using multiple Claude Code sessions simultaneously - what’s the intended behaviour here? Now, it sometimes just seemingly randomly updates to show either Codex or Claude for a second, then switches back to Claude (but in idle state). The “is working” state is never shown longer than a second in general for me. Thanks in advance!

It seems to me seam is conflicting with a keyboard shortcut for me. I set “Command + Shift + M” to maximize apps (via rectangle). But if Seam is open, this shortcut is not working. The only solution I found so far is to close seam. I have tried toggling off various settings to disable it, but no setting toggle is working. It’s also unclear where it is used within Seam. Not sure if it will be on roadmap, but having a section to manage all global shortcuts will be helpful. Everyone has workflow where they have their global shortcuts setup in certain way, Seam should provide a way to configure specific shortcuts without overriding already setup shortcuts.

I really like how the notch expands for some messages, or when a file is being dragged. It would be fantastic, if I could trigger the display of messages or notifications from other applications (e.g. own applications). This could happen via NSDistributedNotificationCenter, Apple Events / AppleScript or custom URL scheme lie NSWorkspace.shared.open(URL(string: "seam://action?message=”Display this message.")!).

Bug Report: BetterDisplay launches automatically when launching or quitting Seam Description: Every time I launch or quit Seam, BetterDisplay is automatically launched (even if it was already running or quit). Steps to reproduce: Quit BetterDisplay completely. Launch Seam → BetterDisplay starts automatically. Qui BetterDisplay. Quit Seam → BetterDisplay starts again. Expected behavior: Seam should not trigger BetterDisplay to launch. Actual behavior: BetterDisplay launches on both Seam launch and quit. Support other media sources or audio players that register with MPNowPlayingInfoCenter. Example of an app that doesn’t show up in Seam is Swmpc(MPD client).

This seems to happen with audio from a web browser, YouTube or any other site. After opening the Apple Music app (where the animation behaves normally), the browser audio source no longer shows as “playing” when it isn’t. However, it sometimes starts showing back as “playing”, even though it’s paused, for example after seeking while paused.

The notch does not disappear in full-screen mode, even though “Show in full-screen mode” is disabled - see video attached.

Hi. When connected to BT earphones or headphones, changing the volume with the keyboard multimedia keys does not display the indicator. However, disconnecting from BT makes the indicator reappear. Also when changing the volume with the earphones shows the Seam volume indicator. Note: Seam has BT permissions Version 1.1.3

When it's also working on an external monitor without a notch (obviously), I'll buy it. Options for MacBook only, External Monitor (selectable with dopdown or all), and “Both” would be nice.

Hello. I've noticed that Seam has been using a significant amount of CPU and energy when there is audio playing and this is reflected in the notch. These are the ‘Now Playing’ settings: Notice that toggling the “Now Playing activity” doesn’t disable the animation. I suspect it’s the animation that is causing this. When scrolling up to hide the the animation the CPU usage lowers intermediately, although play/pause toggle shows it again. Version is 1.1.0, but have noticed this since at least a week ago.

Having some weird Seam behaviour. When I tried to update in the app, it said something about not being able to connect to an update process. I re-downloaded the app from the website and upon open, it had not saved my license info. I’m trying to enter my license, but it says, “Connection failed. Please try again.” Similarly, in Discord in the #support channel, there’s an “Open a ticket” button. When I click it, it says, “This interaction failed.” I don’t know if these things are related. But either way, it’s not letting me enter my license in the app.

I was delighted to install the update so that I could use the first app of its kind with a German translation (as far as I know). However, my delight has now waned somewhat because there are many errors and the translation is far from complete. Right-clicking on the notch reveals the first missing part. Most of the settings have not been translated, and I have also noticed errors during operation. For example, "Battery almost empty" is displayed when the battery level drops to 20%. However, part of the message is cut off because the Notch does not extend far enough. At this point, I think it would be wise if the Notch extended not only outward but also downward and then displayed the sentence at the bottom—otherwise, it should simply be widened. Can I help with the German translation? Please contact me :)

If I understood correctly when Seam is configured to display whatever is playing now (youtube music through safari in my case), the notch should show the song title but there is nothing being displayed.
